Hello, my name is
Melanie, I live in a quaint little town called Rehoboth which is located in
Massachusetts. My family and I live in an old house built in the late 1800's. I
love to quilt, and many nights you will find me sitting by my woodstove
stitching away on a quilt or stitching up a new primitive doll.
I thought
that I would also share with you how my business was started.
In December
of 1997 my 19 year-old son passed away very suddenly from a heart attack. My
world had changed forever. Devastation set in immediately and my heart was
literally broken. Obviously depressed, my whole world felt like it had been torn
apart and I wondered just how I would go on. Because of severe depression, I
wasn't able to work and lost my job. I didn't know what to do with the rest of
my life and knew I would never be the same. I did a lot of praying and turned to
God for help and guidance.
Eventually, I came to realize that what is
most important is how we choose to handle situations that come our way. A few
positive things that came from this tragedy is that I have learned to fully
appreciate my family, friends and the simple things in life and I now realize
that life gives us both ... bitterness and sweetness.
Bittersweet
Primitives is the result of a great deal of soul searching about my life and
what I love in my life.
Thank you for taking the time to visit!
My
newest additions! Looking forward to fresh eggs.
